Continental GTC S

Bentley Magazine issue seventy eight
A Spark of Joy

Bentley's Continental GTC C was given the 'S' treatment, and despite being a derivative, the car was embargoed and only available to be shot in the studio.

There are certain aspects of the car that make it an 'S', the most striking of which is the red brake callipers – it was these that we used as a focus of the shoot – plunging the studio into red light and using the car's striking colours to create a 'Sin City' vibe.

The main creative idea was the mirrors, which we used to draw focus to the 'S' parts of the car and guide the reader to what we wanted them to focus on. Inspiration for the shoot was taken from watching my wife get ready to go to work and doing her makeup in the mirror, which led my mind to trail off to the years gone by when I watched my Nan's budgie admire himself in his mirror. The car's S parts, essentially being its makeup and the mirrored views are the car showing off because it's just so darn pretty.

We furthered the mirror aspect of the shoot by creating a mirrored B on the front cover of the magazine.
